AFTERBABY · TERMS OF USE

Terms of Use

Effective date: August 19, 2026 · Operator: Emily Rose Green ("we," "us"). By using AfterBaby, you agree to these terms.

If you or your baby may be in danger — severe bleeding, trouble breathing, thoughts of harming yourself or your baby — do not rely on this app. Call 911 (or your local emergency number) or call/text 988 immediately.

1. What AfterBaby is (and isn't)

AfterBaby is a wellness support tool for the postpartum period. It offers tracking, general educational information drawn from reputable sources (such as ACOG, CDC, and AAP), and standard self-screening questionnaires. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing in the app creates a provider–patient relationship. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about your health, and never delay or disregard professional care because of anything in this app.

2. The EPDS screening

The app includes the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (Cox, J.L., Holden, J.M., & Sagovsky, R., 1987, British Journal of Psychiatry, 150, 782–786), a widely used self-screening questionnaire. Scores are informational only — they are not a diagnosis, and only a qualified professional can evaluate your mental health. Please share your results with your provider.

3. Your data, your device

All information you enter is stored on your device only (see our Privacy Policy). You are responsible for your device's security and for exporting your data before deleting the app or clearing browser storage, as we cannot recover it.

4. Acceptable use

Use AfterBaby only for its intended personal, non-commercial purpose. Don't attempt to misuse, reverse-engineer for harm, or misrepresent the app or its content as professional medical services.

5. Intellectual property

The AfterBaby name, emblem, design, and content are owned by the operator. The EPDS is the work of its cited authors. You retain full ownership of the personal data you enter (it's on your device, after all).

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

AfterBaby is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of content. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the past 12 months.

7. Changes

We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
